McCullough
Shook Kelley was commissioned by Wieland Homes, one of the major home builders in the United States, to provide master planning and architectural design services for a 355 acre tract that straddles the North Carolina and South Carolina state line. The project consists of approximately 900 residential units of varying types combined with a small, mixed-use village center to create a traditionally-planned neighborhood.
The new community of McCullough has been planned according to the traditions inherent in Charlotte's historic Dilworth and Myers Park neighborhoods. Great streets will be framed by a broad spectrum of stately, well designed homes that are the tradition of John Wieland communities. Parkways lined with sidewalks and green space threaded with nature walks will abound. And, a small village center will be included so that residents can walk to grab a bite to eat, to have their laundry cleaned, or to simply share a cup of coffee with a friend.
McCullough is designed to be a legacy community. The quality in its planning and its execution will serve as a benchmark for future growth, a standard that all development that comes hereafter must meet. And one hundred years from now, future generations can look back and be proud of the insight and vision of their forebears.
