Premier Sotheby's International Realty
Shook Kelley provided Architecture and Interior Design Services for Premier Sotheby's Southeast flagship real estate office.
Located in the Morrison mixed-use development in SouthPark Charlotte, the real estate company's new space involves the renovation of a 5,200 square foot space that was formerly home to an art gallery.
Premier Sotheby's International Realty in terms of a brand is known as: 1) a real estate brokerage; 2) the "product" is their people and their services; and 3) a prestigious auction house. The client's goal was to create a Southeast flagship location to not only provide a fresh retail presence for the brand in this market, but also help maximize recruiting by attracting top talent. Shook Kelley designed a creative, collaborative and market-leading space where people want to come to work – and clients want to come to buy homes – blending southern charm with the high-energy cosmopolitan bustle of the Charlotte market.
Shook Kelley provided a new space plan including open areas for collaboration, training and entertainment along with huddle areas, private and open office areas, two large conference rooms, and a warm, inviting reception area making the space feel bright and modern. The client really wanted the space to be their billboard, promoting all the glass storefront as windows into the action. Wanting the feel of a high-end hospitality space while also providing office space for agents and their teams, the client tasked Shook Kelley to meld the two functions together while making the space feel comfortable and inviting to call.
A space that conveys leadership in the market, creating a statement with a high-end, modern and sophisticated presentation that feels comfortable and inviting.
Some unique features throughout the space include 3-dimensional acoustical screens by Arktura hung from the ceiling in collaborative areas and conference rooms, providing a dynamic wow-factor while allowing light fixtures to be popped down through the webs. The open training area features a custom designed coffee bar with large screen for presentations and flexible seating that can be moved easily to accommodate various functions. The carpeted areas were clad with FLOR carpet tile to mimic residential rugs while providing contrast and warmth to the exposed painted concrete floor throughout. The open spaces were equipped with a zoned dimming light system to control day and night lighting as well as events which was an important feature for the client since most of the exterior walls are glass.
The end result produces a space that conveys leadership in the market, creating a statement with a high-end, modern and sophisticated presentation that feels comfortable and inviting not only to clients but to agents as well. The office serves as an advertisement, maximizing the vast amount of windows throughout to show activity and capitalize on views into the brand and breadth of experience of the realtor.
